Workplace Week 2018

Celebrating Workplace Excellence, Innovation and Creativity

Last week, 12 – 16 November, was Workplace Week London – a week dedicated to Celebrating workplace excellence, innovation and creativity. Now in its 7th year, Workplace Week has continuously donated all of its proceedings to BBC Children in Need to support underprivileged children in the UK.

London's most innovative offices opened their doors to 90-minute tours, including iconic institutions, creative agencies and some of the world's best-loved consumer brands. Alongside this, a series of inspirational events and discussions took place, tackling the big issues relating to the world of work.

Workplace Week is aimed at anyone interested in the world of work, but those instrumental in shaping the design, culture and evolution of workplaces were most at home during the five-day extravaganza.

The week kicked off with a panel discussion at Arcadisin King's Cross. A jam-packed morning of discussion and debate, the panel of experts shared their stories on working globally within facilities and workplace management, offering advice to those who don't want their careers to be confined by borders – geographical, digital, or otherwise.

Standouts of the week for us were:

The view from the Jelly Fish offices on the 22nd and 28th floors of The Shard

The roof terrace and atrium at Just Giving's London HQ in the Blue Fin building

The impressive living wall on the outside of Viacom's offices in Camden

Crown Estate's tireless commitment to wellness, by becoming the first ever WELL platinum certified building in Europe, with help from caterer's Vacherin.

All in all, a very important and eye-opening week that shines a light on our amazing industry and those who are really hitting the nail on the head in terms of effective and forward-thinking workspaces. Discussions were a plenty and the breeding of ideas and further innovation was at the heart of each event and tour - we can't wait to get involved properly next year!
