Waste not Want not
Our aim is to minimise the amount of waste that goes to landfill. We are proud to say that we manage to resell, reuse, or recycle 94% of all cleared furniture and make every effort to re-sell or rehome second hand furniture through our “Waste not Want not" scheme. Active Workplace Solutions' clients are given the opportunity to donate unwanted furniture and equipment to our selected charities and social enterprises. In return, Active Workplace Solutions commits to delivering and installing the furniture from our warehouse to registered charities within the local area free of charge.
Employee Volunteering
We want our employee to be able to see the benefits of supporting local communities and charities. Therefore, every Active employee is encouraged to take two whole days a year on full pay to volunteer in the local community. That works out to roughly 60 days volunteering at our current size.
Active Workplace Solutions' employees give up their time to volunteer and support causes in the local community.
One is Launchpad, which helps Reading's most vulnerable and disadvantaged to turn their lives around and reach their potential by offering supported housing, education, training and counselling.
Our volunteers have done the 'big sleep out' and rocked up at the Oracle, a large shopping centre in Reading, in the run up to Christmas to help with bucket collections.
By fostering a culture of corporate social responsibility, we are allocating two dedicated volunteer days per year for each of our employees. We want to encourage and empower our team to actively engage in community service and contribute to causes they are passionate about. To this end we have partnered with Whatimpact.
Active has partnered with WhatImpact to enhance its commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainability. WhatImpact, a leading platform in the social impact space, empowers businesses to make a positive difference in their communities and beyond. By aligning with WhatImpact, we aim to leverage the platform's innovative tools and resources to streamline and maximise the impact of their social initiatives. This partnership reflects our dedication to creating meaningful change and contributing to social and environmental causes. Together with WhatImpact, Active can better measure, manage, and communicate its social impact, fostering a culture of purpose-driven business and reinforcing its position as a socially responsible organisation.
