Maidenhead based Charity SportsAble, first formed in 1975, aims to raise awareness of disability through sport and recreation, actively working to introduce sport to disabled people in the community. Hosting a range of fundraising events including its annual wheelchair push, open mic nights, quiz nights and more, SportsAble promotes an element of fun in all that they do.
After the significant expansion of their office based team, SportsAble needed
help managing their current space to accommodate their growing team. This
included the accommodation of members of staff with mobility issues, meaning
both comfort and health and safety were of upmost importance.
Active solution
Active Workplace Solutions started by visiting SportsAble's Reading premises and spending time with CEO Kerl Haslam to discuss their growing needs and upcoming plans affecting the space they were currently in. From this the Active Workplace Solutions team were able to create detailed space plans and layouts that would fulfil SportsAble's requirements and be adaptable to fit in with any future changes.
The Active Workplace Solutions team also assisted with the removal of all unnecessary furniture safely and disposing of it in accordance with environmental good practice. To replace the old furniture Active Workplace Solutions donated smaller, more practical, desking as well as drawers, cabinets and chairs that would allow the business to work more efficiently.
Whilst fundraising for a new, larger premises SportsAble needed the facility to store excess furniture and equipment. Active Workplace Solutions were more than happy to help, extending their support by offering free storage in our Woodley based warehouse.
